His most well-known step towards activism is the popular Indian television program Satyamev Jayate where he talks about issues that affect the environment and society. Paani, a non-profit organization founded by Khan in 2016 has created a water capacity of 82 billion litres in just one year!!
2. Leonardo DiCaprio
Leonardo gives his all to whatever he chooses to do, including the Leonardo DiCaprio foundation. Founded in the year 1998, the foundation has supported 132 organizations, funded more than 200 projects across 50 countries and 5 oceans. DiCaprio also acted in and produced the 2016 documentary film Before the Flood to put the spotlight on climate change and its impact on the planet.
3. Gul Panag
Gul Panag, former Miss India 1999 is as beautiful as she is smart. The actor has started two organizations that work towards different aspects of environmental preservation, ranging from proper waste disposal & employment of natural energy resources to proper sanitation. She owns an electric car, and has formulated the concept of a ‘green home’ that uses rainwater harvesting and solar power instead of exhaustive energy sources.
4. Daryl Hannah
The Hollywood actress of the Kill Bill fame is one fierce environmentalist. She has been a vegan since the age of 11. She runs a weekly video blog called DHLoveLife, where she talks about feasible solutions to environmental problems. She has been arrested three times for her environmental activism, on issues ranging from protest against mountaintop removal and the Keystone Pipeline.
