White- Breaking Away From Monochrome
June 03, 2015 | The Liva LifestyleYear after year, we have white being featured in the top trends of that year- whether it is with black for the monochrome look, or paired with some other bright colour, or whether it is just a statement jacket. This year, the trend took off to a whole another level of being all white. Yes Murphy’s Law works every time you wear white and are having that glass of red wine. Believe it or not, white can be as formal as the outfit to be worn at the ‘white’ house or as casual as to be worn as a cover up on the beach.
White being versatile can be played around in different fabrics and cuts. The runways saw the colour being played by the designers with stunning effects. But we will see how you can incorporate this colour in your wardrobe- Dress- An all white dress with an obi belt (in white) looks summer perfect this year. Slightly A line or with flair, this short dress can be paired with neutral flats and bright statement neck piece. Short all white dresses were showcased by Louis Vuitton and we think this is the best interpretation of white there is.
Skirt- With lace taking over everything you have ever owned and making all your clothes seem drab in comparison, lace skirts are no exception. However white lace skirts personify summer like no other. White neoprene skirts (slightly above the knee) are slowly and slowly taking over our lives as well and why not pair them with a black camisole or a neutral coloured top with one statement accessory and flats?
Shorts- High waisted shorts are all the rage right now (and why shouldn’t they be?). High waisted white lace shorts however, are a different ball game altogether. As chic as it is possible for shorts to get, white lace shorts pair amazingly well with a pair of gladiators and a crop top.
Denims- Yes we know everyone is sporting their denims and holding on to them like their babies. But what if I told you that white denim is all the rage right now? Ripped white jeans sported with either a white denim jacket or a blue top and white flatforms is one way to follow the trend.
All white- All white is also a possibility during these times of wearable trends. All white will not make you look weird but it will definitely make you look chic and propel you to the ‘IT’ status. Wear a white crop top or a short top with either white wide legged trousers or a white a line midi length skirts, with white platforms and a white bag. Keep your accessories understated and neutral and see heads turn when you battle the soaring temperatures with élan.
White is the easiest colour to wear and play with. Be it bridal white or eggshell or cream or ivory, one thing is for sure- no matter how you wear the colour or with what you wear it, you can never go wrong with the colour and your outfit.
