Sheer Is Here
June 12, 2015 | Tinsel TrendsWho remembers sheer taking over the world in 2014? Who remembers sheer being the go to fabric and look for wedding outfits as well? Who remembers predictions of sheer being here to stay even in 2015? That’s right- everyone! Sheer made a huge impact on our lives last year and continues to do so. With summers being hotter than ever, it is no surprise that that this translucent fabric has not extinguished from our lives.
There are an amazing number of ways you can wear sheer. Let us see how you can incorporate it into your everyday life-
Ballerina
Though not exactly sheer but with the same effect, tulle dresses which have taken inspiration from ballerinas, were showcased at the weeks and red carpets dedicated to the upcoming year. Maxi length ethereal tulle and sheer dresses took center stage when shown in the midst of everything 70’s and leather. You can incorporate it as a short skirt with a well fitting half sheer blouse. Instead of ballerina flats opt for neutral tones block heels.
Sheer LBD
The LBD is a wardrobe piece that undergoes innovations and changes but the basic essence remains the same- that it is a classic and will always remain so. Sheer has taken the LBD to the next level with complete see through maxi bottoms and short black linings for skirts underneath. Take it to the next level with embellished linings or a leather top.
The next level
Think of it as a 50 Shades of Grey for fashion. With see through, sheer, cut outs, thigh high splits, body con, tight leather is definitely for the weak hearted. But this look of with bits of sheer certainly gained the spotlight for its unapologetic dark theme and rock star chic.
The Indian Circuit
Our Indian fashion weeks weren’t far behind in terms of showcasing the trendiest of trends on the runway. Sheer was under the spotlight with tulle maxi dresses and sheer tops and multi layered sheer lehengas.
Tights
Why not jump on this bandwagon in full sheer skirts which show off those legs of yours. The choice and length of the lining is completely up to you. You can go sans any lining underneath as well as long as the right lingerie is worn. Picture courtesy- luxemi
