Amazon India Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2017, held from October 12^th to 16^th at the NSIC grounds, Okhla, New Delhi, dedicated two days to the promotion of Indian Handloom and Textiles. This year, several designers showcased their latest fashion and set new fashion trends for the upcoming season. Most designers used handloom fabrics that made their collections stand out.

The festivities started with Road to Chanderi, in which 16 designers joined hands and made chanderi their muse, dedicated a show to the versatile heritage fabric. Aditi Rao Hydari and Jyotiraditya Scindia took to the ramp as showstoppers.

From showcasing how to look classy in saree to quirky takes on traditional looks, here are some of our favorite collections that set hot fashion trends.

Samant Chauhan

The designer based his collection around Grecian and Aryan influences. He picked up inspiration from the stories of Aryan invasion, and wove it seamlessly through his fashion clothes. The collection boasted of architectural silhouettes, complete with dramatic trains that highlighted the trendy clothes. The bright summer palette was the eye-catching element of this show.

Krishna Mehta

Multi-colored belted sarees with jackets, dramatically draped gowns, and asymmetrical kurtas - Krishna Mehta won the hearts of the audience with her mind blowing fashion styles. Her collection mostly featured checkered prints accentuated by print detailing on the torso. The models flaunted gorgeous eye makeup with shimmering lower lash line, which is certain to become the new fashion trend in makeup for spring/summer 2017.

Abraham and Thakore

Setting new trends in fashion has become a habit for the designer duo Abraham and Thakore. True to form, their fashion clothes were made with swatches of gold and silver fabric. The collection was somewhere between traditional and the modern, featuring innovative sarees draped with thigh high slits and pockets. Other trendy clothes included skirts, dresses, pants and kurtas.

Anavila

Anavila showed us how to wear different types of sarees with her amazing collection that highlighted linen. For those wondering what to wear with saree, there were asymmetrical blouses, pants, shirt blouses, and jackets. The neutral colors, patchwork petticoats with pockets, and frayed hems were some features to look out for. Minimalistic makeup, braided hair with fringe and Kolhapuri sandals complemented the fashion clothes.

Gaurav Jai Gupta

Handwoven fabrics, silk, cotton, zari and stainless steel shimmied down the runway. From sarees and blouses to pinstriped trousers, slit sleeves and dresses, the collection was full of eye-catching fashion clothes. The unusual pairings lent it a festive and funky vibe. Models wore flat sandals, jute hair accessories and dramatic eye makeup to complete the voguish looks.

Rabani and Rakha

Asymmetric hemlines, plenty of capes, sarees draped around jumpsuits, one-shoulder gowns, dhoti pants and lehengas – these were some highlights of the designer duo’s fashion clothes collection. They used muted shades of beige adorned with shimmering gold and silver floral work. With the minimalistic makeup and hair tied in buns, the models carried off the beautiful styles in a fluid fashion.

Ashima Leena

Showcasing feminine silhouettes, Ashima Leena’s fashion clothes collection had vintage wallpaper print in pastel shades. Dhotis, kurtas, skirts, sarees, jumpsuits and asymmetric hemlines made up the stylish collection. The overall effect was beautiful, apart from the straw hats that seemed like a forced accessory over the flirty and trendy clothes.

ILK

Known for its soft grunge look, the fashion label showcased a collection sporting delicate floral textures on separates, and twin sets of sheer layers. The print embroidery and handmade textures left the audience awestruck. The color palette ranged from baby blue and creams to charcoal and vibrant pink, setting a new fashion trend. Other new fashion styles included pants, jackets, shirt dresses, and sarees with crop tops.

Poonam Dubey

The stunning collection revolved around Khadi with sequins and natural elements like flowers, birds and butterflies. The unique cuts, drapes and patterns were inspired by a combination of modern and Mughal art. Muted shades were adorned with contrast prints bringing about vibrancy to the collection. The silhouettes of dhoti pants, crop tops, shrugs, saree with pants, skirts, flared pants and angrakhas gave a fresh spin to the trendy clothes.
