July 27, 2016 | The Liva LifestyleMultiple-time winner of the International Dance Music Awards’ Best Music Event category, Tomorrowland is the place to be for lovers of EDM and house music. This year was no less, with revelers congregating to Belgium for the musical extravaganza. From chart busting tunes to hot fashion trends, catch a glimpse of what went on at the festival, courtesy Instagram.
Unity In Diversity: Personified
The theme this year was ‘We Unite’, and nothing captured it more perfectly than this image posted on the official Tomorrowland Instagram account. 2016 saw approximately 4,50,000 people pour into the town of Boom. Here we see proud revelers holding up flags representing the numerous countries they travelled from. A powerful reminder that music has the power to bring us all together, irrespective of cultural differences.
The Stage Is Set
Tomorrowland is famous for stage designs that leave spectators spellbound, and this year was no different. The official Tomorrowland Account beautifully captured the fairytale-like atmosphere in this picture of the rose garden. The lush greenery and jewel-toned installations blended together in a fluid fashion to present an image that transported us to another universe, one where everything is picture-perfect.
Like One Giant Sleepover
Part of the fun of a music festival is camping out in the open, under the stars. The Tomorrowland official account posted this image on the first day, showing us poor souls what we’re missing out on. The vibrant painted tents laid out under the cornflower blue sky certainly looked like a dream. The revelers in their music festival-ready fashion styles, complete with comfortable shoes and shades, added a fun element to the snap.
What’s A Music Festival Without Costumes?
From adorable cartoon characters to magical fairy tale costumes, visitors donned all manners of amazing fashion styles to capture the fun spirit of the festival. This colorful post by user @meshalik shows the lengths people go to, in order to stand out from the crowd. Be it constructing elaborate butterfly wings or finding matching Minion costumes, dressing up in new fashion styles is part of the fun.
Or The Food?
If you travel to an exotic destination and try out fancy cuisines, did it really happen if you did not post about it on Instagram? User @postcardstravel_ gives us a serious case of food-related envy with this picture of hotdogs from around the world, as served at the venue, with a cold beer to wash it down. Enjoyed under the open sky in the hot summer, fashion trends take a (very slight) backseat to the other offerings of the music festival.
When Flowers Bloom In Summertime
The partygoers found a fun way to incorporate one of the new trends in fashion this season – florals. Beautiful tiaras made of faux blossoms made delightful accessories to trendy clothes. Their bright hues added to the already vibrant atmosphere. A few took it several notches higher by sporting floral prints head-to-toe. What a lovely way to embrace one of the most cheerful spring trends.
A Scintillating Finish To A Spectacular Event
While all the evening shows were accompanied by magnetizing lights and fireworks, the display at the end was the perfect finale to the festivities. Captured here by user @seekyourhorizon, it was indeed a sight for sore eyes. Lighting up the sky in mesmerizing patterns, it was beautifully accentuated by the coordinated lights on the stages.
It Was All About The Music
In spite of all the add-ons, Tomorrowland stayed true to its roots, music. Talented performers like Tiesto, David Guetta, Steve Aoki and Nicky Romero, among others, kept the crowds enthralled for hours. The gripping beats, coupled with the strikingly designed stages and cool effects ensured that this was a music festival visitors would remember for years to come.
