Marsala's Hollywood Style

January 08, 2016 | Tinsel Trends

No Pantone colour of the year has made an impact quite like Marsala. It has completely conquered the fashion scene everywhere. From the fashionable streets of Paris to the ramps of Bollywood to stylish Hollywood celebrities, everyone has donned this rich, earthy colour of the season. And in this list we pick our top 5 Marsala inspired looks from Hollywood. So let’s get going!

Blake Lively

1

Any fashion list is incomplete without the mention of this style icon. Ever since her popularity in the hit television series Gossip Girl, she has made it to the pages of every major fashion magazine. From her red carpet looks to her much hyped about wedding dress, everything is discussed in detail. She opted to don the colour of the season in this Gucci gown at Cannes this season, and unsurprisingly, got all the editors’ pens rolling.

Miranda Kerr

2

Miranda Kerr paired this Zuhair Murad gown with golden stilettos to grace this year’s Golden Globes after party. She has made headlines with her daring ensembles time and again, but this one was a stunner; the gown leaves little to the imagination. Its deep halter neckline and cuts accentuated her curves beautifully. We love this gown in particular because of how graceful it looks and the way the Pantone colour of the year brings out her fair complexion. She goes all out with her lip colour also and paints them a deep pantone colour to complement her rich dress.

Tina Fey

3

Tina Fey rocked the colour of the season in this strapless gown at the Instyle Golden Globe after party. The strapless dress hugs her body at the top and then flows into ruffled flairs from hips down. She has kept the jewellery minimum in order to let the colour and the dress shine through. We love how she has kept her hair down to soften the look. Her dewy eyes and slightly tinted lips make for her signature style statement – subtle, soft and elegant.

Ireland Baldwin

4

Ireland Baldwin attended the Academy Awards in a beautiful lace inspired marsala gown. We love the delicate-yet-powerful look on her which she has paired with soft makeup. Lace, as delicate and graceful as it looks, can sometimes get very tricky, particularly when that’s all that’s used. But in this particular dress, lace has been used to add drama to the neckline. The ruffled neckline complimented the opening at the midriff. The dress then flowed easily around the body with a cut on the left side to further accentuate the lacy fabric and, of course, her perfect body.

Naomi Watts

5

Naomi Watts was nominated for Best Actress for her film “The Impossible.” The pressure was on and therefore no wonder she opted for this gorgeous head-to-toe Marsala look designed by Zac Posen to wear to the Golden Globes. She may not have won the award, but she definitely won all style points in the gorgeous full-sleeved gown.
