Tarun Tahiliani
Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2016 started off with a bang with celebrity designer Tarun Tahiliani. The Bollywood fashion trendsetter showcased a breathtaking collection. His stunning designs were inspired by the noted sculptor Mrinalini Mukherjee's 'Life Size Hemp' and 'cast bronze sculptures'. Featuring organic motifs at every fold and contour, there was restrained elegance that also appeared to be robust. The trendy clothes had bold and colorful stripes and checks which reminded us of the rich visual intensity of Asian textile tradition. The fashion clothes were enhanced by aari, resham and brush embroidery and embellished with resham threads. Color tone was earthy, with models flaunting shades of maroon, black and jade-green. Kangana Ranaut was the show-stopper, and she looked absolutely stunning in a black satin maxi skirt with an embellished jacket in red.
