India Fashion Week London - Latest Clothing Trends

India Fashion Week London show is curated in collaboration with one of the biggest fashion school in the country, JD institute of fashion and technology. Through the platform of IFWL, the director Manny Singh aims at promoting new talent and giving them confidence by providing them the opportunity to showcase their fashion clothes on such a large platform. Neha Dhupia, who is the face of this fashion week, believes the event enables consumers to come together and see the latest fashion trends by promising designers under one roof. Through this event, new and upcoming fashion labels receive the recognition they need in the fashion circles.
After a successful opening year, India Fashion Week London has come back with an even bigger and better event for its second season complete with the latest fashion trends. The weekend gave an opportunity to showcase Indian fashion labels on an international platform. From exclusive jewelry launches to celebrity appearances, the 2016 edition of the IFWL was an action packed event. It went beyond runway shows with various seminars conducted by prestigious authors from the fashion world talking about the new trends of fashion. The fashion week showcased a perfect blend of established and upcoming designers promoting British Asian talent to a global audience.
The highlight of the show was bringing the traditional attire of North-east India into mainstream fashion. Sherdukpen shawls and Apatani jackets created a spectacular sight on the runway. The focus this year was on fashion in the digital age. The influence of technology in the fashion industry was creatively woven into the latest trends in fashion and presented at the show. Well known fashion labels like BIBI, Shantanu and Nikhil, and Satya Paul showcased their collections at the fashion week. Ace designer Rocky Star who recently displayed his collection at London Fashion Week presented his new fashion styles as part of the grand finale at IFWL.
Bhumika & Jyoti, a label built around the concept of sustainability, presented an array of the latest fashion trends with the vision of zero waste fashion. The environment friendly yet trendy clothes came in a neutral color palate. The collection boasted of flowy silhouettes that gave it an aura of feminine allure.
Ethnic label Studio AV charmed the audience with a woodland inspired collection. Intricate embroidery and motifs inspired by nature were adorned on warm hues to create a magnificent fairy tale on the ramp.
Hyderabad-based designer Althea Krishna presented a collection inspired by the poem ‘Bangle Seller’ by Sarojini Naidu. The clothes were grand and colorful with intricate zardozi work bringing to the ramp a beautiful interpretation.
The other designers that showcased their collection at the event included renowned fashion labels like Jadore, Intiprinti, Manay, Lanacherry and Masumi. Upcoming designers Abha Choudhary, Mohit Goyal and Ravita Mayor also presented their designs of the latest fashion trends.
Over the two days of the event, the designers managed to showcase fashion styles with a fresh perspective. The blend of Indian traditional fashion styles with global fashion trends made this event a huge success.
