The traditional costume is one of the fashion trends of Oktoberfest. The visitors went all out this year with latest fashion styles of traditional Bavarian garb. The women wore fluidly fashioned dirndls and men looked suave in the lederhosen. The beautiful silhouettes and colors complemented the vibrancy of the festival. If you truly want an immersive experience, get dressed up.
Mouth-watering German Food
is the best place to enjoy the traditional Wiesn food. Go to a bigger tent, find a seat and get ready for gluttony. The variety of meats and snacks is mouth-watering, there is something for everyone. We have even heard of ‘vegetarians’ breaking their diet for it! Pile up your plate with the variety of meaty offerings like Hendl (roast chicken) and Würstl (sausages). Or you can indulge on Weißwurst (a white sausage) with a side of Sauerkraut.

Who hasn’t dreamed of an endless supply of grand ol’ beer? Get ready to chug a whole lot of it. Oktoberfest has various bets and challenges you can partake in to show off your drinking abilities. These beers come in a standard portion of 1 liter and are served by six of Munich’s best breweries. The excitement is palpable. Beer patrons are known to put one foot on the table and finish off a liter of ale. This has to be done within 10 seconds or one must be ready to get booed by hundreds of bystanders. Those who manage to complete the challenge will pretty soon feel the after effects of this beer marathon. Be sure to tag along with your friends!

There is more to Oktoberfest than meets the eye. It is a mecca for all the fun-lovers to leave their inhibitions aside and take part in the festivities. This also means that you can expect a whole lot of impromptu singing and dancing. It is more fun when you know some German songs, especially classics like Viva Colonia and Ein Prosit. If the crowd breaks out in an English country ballad, consider yourself lucky and join in.
These moments show that Oktoberfest is something everyone must try at least once in their life. So make sure you add it to your bucket list. Prost!
