This year, the fashion industry has seen some incredible looks and collaborations, from Beyoncé and Topshop, to Jason Wu and Target. Vetements unveiled their 18-brand fashion line collaboration at the Paris Couture Fashion Week, breaking all records with a 54-looks line-up including both men’s and women’s fashion clothes. Here, are some of the best collaborations of the year 2016 to add to your fashion diary:
Kenzo x H&M
The much-awaited fashion clothes collection was launched on 3rd November 2016. People were mentally bookmarking their favorite picks from the collection and figuring out their shopping strategies to grab the latest fashion trends from the Swedish giant retail store, weeks in advance. The label delivered a collection of fashion clothes and accessories for both men and women, celebrating style in the most outstanding way. It was youthful, vibrant and full of energy, showcasing a combination of inexpensive textiles with electric prints and color mixing. With its semi-affordable prices, the response to this launch was tremendous, and the collection sold out in minutes.
Zimmermann x Net-a-Porter
Celebrating the 25th year of the Australian fashion label Zimmermann, and 10 years of collaborations with Net-a-Porter, they teamed up to create a fantastic collection together. Based on many of the core pieces, they created floaty floral chiffon dresses, tops billowing with broderie Anglaise ruffles and printed lace-trimmed bikinis. The fashion clothes collection also included swimsuits, lingerie and some jazzy poolside ‘cover-ups’. Nicky Zimmermann, the creative director and designer of the brand quoted “We were inspired by the idea of ten years of amazing travel, ten years of great parties and ten years of long summers.” The trendy clothes were based on ideas from past collections, with little details of embroideries or new silhouettes and cut of swimsuits.
Champion x Wood Wood
The retro sports Champion brand joined hands with the Danish fashion label Wood Wood to set some hot fashion trends. The ongoing collection includes printed and embroidered t-shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies and coach jackets that communicate a carefree attitude by putting a romantic spin on the iconic Champion sportswear. “We have an open mind; there are no rules, our spirits are free so we can move in any direction and work intuitively” quoted Karl-Oskar Olsen, Wood Wood menswear designer.
Coach x Disney
Disney lovers rejoice, as the American fashion trendsetting label Coach has collaborated with Disney. Celebrating their 75th anniversary, creative director Stuart Vevers pinpointed the iconic character as his choice. “I’ve always seen Mickey as a playful rebel at heart and a timeless symbol of joy and creativity. That spirit reinforces the new youthful perspective we are bringing to luxury at Coach” Vevers explained. The collection features a playful spin on signature Coach handbags, wallets and purses, as well as sportswear and sneakers. The biker jackets with Mickey-studded silhouettes on the back and t-shirts with exclusive sketches by Disney’s super-talented animators have become favorite fashion styles. This collection is the first in a series of projects that celebrate American pop culture to mark Coach’s landmark birthday.
