A Very Peachy Formal Wear
July 02, 2015 | The Liva LifestyleLight colours are the most versatile of colours. Pastel shades can be worn for day or even for night; whereas if you look at black and midnight blue, they are more evening appropriate. These understated colours are like the underdogs of the fashion world or like Leonardo DiCaprio- always appreciated but never awarded. We have nothing against floral prints or bird prints or bright eye hurting colours, but there is something so soothing about pastel shades that you really cannot stop appreciating.
Sure these might not be the first shades which pop into your mind when you get that garden party invitation, but they are the best options. Peach is one such shade to opt for when in doubt. Think of it like the ‘black’ of the season.
Blazer
Peach blazers look refreshing and mean business. A very spring colour this year, the colour makes for a pleasant change in the sea of blacks and greys. Opt for a single button peach blazer with white trousers or navy blue trousers and wear a white top underneath. Nude pumps and bag coordinate very well with the soft shade.
All Peach
Peach dresses make for a good option for that formal wear. Pair it with a navy blazer or go without any jacket and wear nude or white pumps with a well coordinated tote. Diane Von Furstenberg’s iconic wrap dress takes a turn this year with a blue coloured wrap dress and bright peach coloured shoes. Else opt for a peach blazer and peach coloured pants with a white top, soft gold piece and nude accessories.
Bottom
Peach skirts and trousers are the much needed vacation your appearance needs from the constant darker hues. Opt for a sheer peach skirt or a pair of peach trousers with nude shoes and a white top. Take it up a notch with a leather jacket and a statement neck-piece.
Colour Blocking-
Yup, colour blocking works for formal wear as well. If you think peach is not very flattering on you, then pair the colour with a darker hue from the same family. A peach blazer can be worn with light orange pants. Else, go towards a totally different colour such as emerald green or blue. Soft gold looks lovely with peach as does white.
Makeup
If you are still not comfortable and do not find peach flattering yet you want to jump in this bandwagon then go for an all peach makeup look. This colour is perfect for day and is just right when it comes to subtlety. A soft peach eye-shadow coupled with a coral coloured blush and peach lips looks perfect for office. Line your eyes with brown kajal and voila! Your new refreshing day look has completely changed!
