2015 Wedding Fashion Trends

June 17, 2015 | The Liva Lifestyle

With everything related to soaring temperatures, why should the ladies attending a traditional occasion suffer? Till now, traditional clothes included salwars and thick sarees but these have taken a backseat when west has intertwined with east, giving us more room to breathe.

With more emphasis on chic and comfort, the 2015 wedding trend has taken an unexpected turn and is a boon to us all. With less emphasis on embroidery and more emphasis on fabric and fluidity of the outfit, the outfits are becoming more and more chic and versatile.

Sheer

When this fabric made waves last year in the bridal fashion weeks, a lot of fashionistas and fashion gurus predicted that it is here to stay and how right they were! Sheer has not only stayed for a whole year but has become an integral part of any traditional outfit. Right from sheer embellished kurtas to sheer layered lehengas and sarees, the fabric gives a lightweight effect to the outfit and flows with every move.

Colours

Sure black makes you look thinner but dark hues are over and done with. Whites, pinks, yellows, peach shades, oranges are welcomed with open arms. Lighter colours look more wearable and comfortable than darker ones. With subtle embellishments and embroidery, these colours take the outfit to the next level of chic.

Dhoti Salwars

This is the latest entrant to Indian fashion this year. No more of those unflattering salwars or tight churidars. Dhoti Salwars give enough room to breathe and look and feel extremely comfortable. Wear it with either short kurtis or longer ones with tail ends, these are a must have for this year.

Anarkalis

Mughal inspired kurtas which are fitting from inside but are extremely flowy from outside thanks to periwinkle and sheer are a big rage right now. Seen in shimmery colours like light blue or subtle silver, this outfit is best worn with minimal but classic pieces of jewelry.

Gowns

With a heavy western influence on clothes, gowns are taking over as a go to choice to attend functions in. With minimal pieces of fabric to handle, gowns fall perfectly and look extremely elegant and chic if worn right.

With a mixture of 2014 trends of colour and the upcoming 2015 trends with emphasis on zari and minimalism, this year seems like a good year for Indian fashion. Classic and vintage with a hint of modern and chic, introduces the fluidity in outfits and emphasizes on comfort as well as style.
